Opportunity for Seniors

Next School year there is an opportunity for Glen Dale Residents over the age of 60.

To help build community and combat loneliness the Glen Dale Elementary School's reading and writing program will be conducting a Pen Pal initiative with residents.

Likewise the John Marshall Highschool's nursing program would love to have your help by interacting with their students. They will learn how to take blood pressure and run simple tests, but they will also look to share time with participants through games, conversation, answering technology questions.

We hope to culminate both of these activities with a large Thanksgiving Event for the whole community designed for seniors but welcoming to residents of all ages. Many no longer have a place to go, or people that visit, but we do have each other has neighbors.
