Let God take a look:
Hebrews 4:12 "For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart."
I love this line, "Walk the talk, or no one will hear your footsteps." It has been said, "Most people will talk the talk, few will walk the walk; be amongst the few."
I love singing hymns, old and new. I cherish small group studies. I have to have my prayer time and I enjoy fellowship time sharing stories of how Jesus is working in our lives. The key to all of the above, is to have these rituals translate into daily living. We can seclude ourselves into spiritual disciplines to the point, we forget to practice what we believe and serve whom we love!
It is easy to talk about what we believe. It is much more difficult to practice what we believe. Wouldn't it be nice if we had someone who would come in and audit our lives to share with
us, where we are off balance? A person who gently, lovingly, and tenderly shines a light on areas where our mouths say one thing and our lives say something completely different. Could it be possible that we do?
As we read and study scripture, it has the ability to inspect our lives, to challenge our views, and to cause us to consider changing our thoughts and ways. I know, often we believe we know for certain, then upon further review, we find out we didn't have
all of the facts. I am going to invite God to take an MRI on my life. I am going to ask God to take His Word and shine it throughout my daily living. Then, I am prayerfully going to seek to have an open mind and heart to receive the news he finds. Will you join me, so that we can begin living the way we talk?
