Out of the Mouth of a Babe

   At 14 months old, my niece would say ‘Abba’ after her mother would say grace over a meal. She wasn’t taught the word ‘Abba’.  She just said it.  How amazing that she knew her Father in Heaven provided this meal for her and she thanked Him personally for it. 

   Now at 15 months, when she is frustrated or needs help, she will holler ‘Abba!’.  She cries out for our Father for help!  How did she learn that?

   Jesus said we should come to him like children.  

 Matthew 18:3: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." 

   According to BibleHub this verse emphasizes the need for humility and a simple, trusting faith to access God’s kingdom.  According to biblestudyforyou.com this reinforces the importance of trust and dependence on God. 

My niece reminds me that I need to continue to call out to my ‘Abba’ multiple times a day; that it is ok to actually yell His name; that when we just don’t know what to pray, just call out to Him anyway-He knows what we need.
