Mentoring at Glen Dale Elementary

  Each Monday at lunchtime, members of our church step into Glen Dale Elementary to share a simple but powerful gift—time. During the first lunch hour, we get the chance to sit with students, play games, do activities, and most importantly, build relationships. This program is more than fun and games—it’s about providing positive social engagement for children in our community. For many of these students, it is a moment in their week where they can laugh, feel supported, and know without a doubt that they are loved. As we listen, encourage, and play alongside them, we also help them develop important social skills that will serve them throughout life. This is part of our calling as a church: to love children, to create safe spaces for them to grow, and to reflect God’s abundant love in action. We celebrate those who are already serving in this ministry, like Jon Hogue who is the current coordinator, and we invite others to join us! Whether you have a gift for laughter, a heart for listening, or just a willingness to show up, your presence can make a  Together, we can help every child know they are valued and surrounded by a community that believes in them.
