Due to Pastor Jon’s recent incident, we thought it might be a good time to review a few suggestions to protect yourself from online hacking by using strong passwords, enable two-factor authentication, keeping your software updated, and being cautious with your online activities.
- On your phone set a strong passcode or use fingerprint or face recognition to prevent unauthorized access. This is your first line of defense against potential intruders.
2 Update your software regularly. Updates often include security patches that protect against vulnerabilities that hackers can exploit.
- Be wary of phishing attempts: Watch for any unsolicited emails or texts that ask for personal information or prompt you to clink on links.
- Avoid public WiFi for sensitive transactions.
- Back up your data to a cloud or computer so that your information can be recovered if your phone is lost or stolen.
- Monitor Your Phone for Unusual Activity: Keep an eye out for signs of hacking, such as rapid battery drain, unexpected app behavior, or unfamiliar apps appearing on your device. If you notice anything suspicious take action immediately.
