Last night, our community came together in a beautiful celebration of the greatest story ever told — the birth of Jesus Christ — at our Live Nativity event here in Glen Dale. Hundreds of families from across the area experienced the wonder of the Christmas story brought to life through live actors, music, shepherds, and angels proclaiming good news of great joy.
We were truly blessed to partner with 12 other local churches in this collaborative event, reflecting the heart of unity and shared mission in our community.
We are grateful to see the story of Christ’s birth highlighted in local media WTRF and to celebrate that this life-giving event was shared through our partnership with many congregations — including
Glen Dale United Methodist — working together to bring the story of Christmas to our neighbors. You can find the broadcast here:
youtube.com, where it was described as an opportunity to bring the Bible stories to life and to remind people that “this is what Christmas is really all about.” Another reflection shared in the coverage beautifully captured the heart of the evening, noting that the Live Nativity helps people “experience the story in a way that goes beyond words.”
A special word of thanks to some very important people:
Our Magi Team:
Bob and Sandy Wiseman
Bob Whipp
Joe Blair
Your faithful preparation, joyful presence, and willingness to journey as the Wise Men brought depth, beauty, and meaning to the experience.
707 Youth:
We are grateful to the 707 Youth, whose artistic gifts were used to glorify God through the creation of the giant camel and lamb paintings that enhanced our Live Nativity.

Choirs and Music Leadership:
A heartfelt thank you to all the choirs and to David Scherrick, who led a joyful time of music and caroling in St. Jude Hall as families waited for their rides. The music added warmth, joy, and a spirit of celebration to the evening.
Cookie Heroes:
And thank you to everyone who donated the THOUSANDS of cookies that were shared throughout the night. Your generosity added a sweet touch to an already meaningful experience.
Thank you to every volunteer, church, partner, and guest who helped make this Live Nativity a powerful witness of hope, light, and love.
Because of you, the story of Christ’s birth was shared in a way our community will long remember.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, participate, and share in this joyful evening—your presence is what truly brought the Live Nativity to life.
